I Can Say Yes or No
My parents taught me to speak and to voice myself. They told it is called “freedom of speech” which is the right to express your opinion and your thoughts freely without any restraints”. Not all people are aware of this because not all of my friends can express themselves. In this essay, I will explain the importance of having this power.
I am Ali, I and I have a unique power. Yes! I said POWER. Last week, there was a lecture about the learning process and the teaching methods at schools. The lecturer asked us about our opinion when it comes to our school methods, no one raised their hands even though they keep telling me that they don’t like the attitude of some of our teachers. I was shocked! I stared at them, and I raised my hand immediately. I told the lecturer that we have some weaknesses. For example, we would like to speak more during the classes not only listening and writing. The idea of lecturing is very bad because we end up with nothing practical. The lecturer and the teaching staff welcomed my opinion, and they promised me that they will find a suitable solution. At that moment, I was super proud of myself because I expressed my opinion in a very gentle and respectful way. I think it is not shameful to refuse others’ opinions because you are an individual, and you have your own imprint. Some people demean their children, and they forget about them because they think that their ideas and points of view are meaningless. This is absolutely wrong.
To sum up, I recommend my friends to be stronger, and not to follow others’ opinions. If you want to say yes, then say YES. If you want to say no, then say No, but be careful, and don’t disrespect anyone in the world.
