Abha: The Mist Lady

Arab countries are rich in their culture and heritage. Saudi Arabia is no exception to this. Its cities are known for their natural beauty and cultural development. Such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Ula, and Dammam. In this essay, I will talk about my trip to one of the most beautiful cities in Saudi Arabia, the city of Abha. I will talk about the activities I did, and the places I visited. In addition to the traditional dishes that I tried.

Abha is located in the southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is the capital of Asir Province. Our flight landed at Abha International Airport in Asir. We took the bus to Abha, which is about 18 km from the airport. As soon as we arrived, it welcomed us with its towering green mountains. The tour guide told us that the city is located at the top of Hijaz Mountains, and many people visit it during vacations to enjoy its beautiful climate. I also heard him say that Abha is called the “Mist Lady” because fog surrounds it, and because its high altitude makes it close to the clouds. While touring the city, we visited Shada Palace, where we saw many pictures and ancient items related to the city's history. We also visited some parks. Such as King Abdulaziz National Park, Al Salam Park, and Andalus Park. In addition to other destinations, such as the Fog Walkway, the Art Street Abha, and the Aseer Regional Museum. After that, we went to a local restaurant. We tried delicious traditional dishes. Such as Haneeth (rice dish with lamb), Mashgotha (flour and yogurt mixture), and Arika dessert.

Next time I visit Saudi Arabia, I want to visit Abha again. I want to discover its old houses, which impressed me with their design. I will never forget my trip to Abha and the beautiful time I spent there. I will tell my friends about this wonderful city, and encourage them to visit it.
