Airport
Every summer vacation, I go with my family to the airport to welcome and say goodbye to our relatives who come to spend their vacation in our city. I feel happy when they arrive, and I feel even happier every time I visit the airport. In this essay, I will talk about the airport, and about the interesting things that I saw there.
When people want to take the bus, they go to the bus stop. When they want to take the train, they go to the train station. The same thing goes for planes. When they want to travel to far places, they go to the airport. It is more like a station where there are planes. The airport is a large place consisting of many buildings and facilities, which can be used by passengers and airport staff. Every time I go to the airport, I stand by the window that overlooks the runways. They look like long and wide streets from which planes take off and land. At the airport, there is a special building for passengers called "terminal". In this building, passengers await their flights. They also get on the plane from the terminal. There, passengers can find cafes, restaurants, and other facilities. Once, I asked a relative of mine who lives abroad how to get on a plane. He told me that they do this through a tunnel that connects the plane to the terminal. But before that, passengers get boarding passes and check in their bags at the check-in counter. If the airport has separate runways, more than one plane can take off and land at the same time. To have more than one runway, a suitable place must be chosen to build the airport. It should be far from populated areas. It must also be built on a huge area.
Without airports, countries would be isolated. People will struggle to travel from one place to another. One of my favorite moments when going to the airport is seeing people welcoming and saying goodbye to their loved ones. I hope to experience this feeling one day when I travel abroad.
