Egyptian Museum

Egypt is an ancient country. Its civilization dates back thousands of years. When I traveled to Egypt, I visited many museums. Such as: Luxor Museum, the Nubian Museum, and the Coptic Museum. The museum I liked the most is the Egyptian Museum. In this essay, I will talk about it. I will also talk about its contents, which amazed me, as well as the most important details about it.

To the north of Tahrir Square in Cairo, the Egyptian Museum is located. This museum was established in the year 1835. It is one of the oldest museums in Egypt. The Egyptian Museum is also the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East region. The building of the museum from the outside is classic, and its halls resemble ancient Egyptian temples. The Egyptian Museum has two floors. I noticed that the first floor contains large and heavy antiquities. Like the statues of the pharaohs. As for the second floor, it includes smaller statues and artifacts. The Egyptian Museum contains many antiquities. like: Khufu Statue, the Grave Mask of King Amenemope, Masks of Yuya and Thuya, and Tutankhamun’s Mask. There are other artifacts in the museum that caught my eye. One of them is Khafre Statue. This black statue represents the ancient Egyptian king for whom the Pyramid of Khafre, the second largest pyramid in the Giza pyramid complex, was built. The Narmer Palette is another distinctive artifact. It has inscriptions showing King Narmer when he unified Upper and Lower Egypt.

The Egyptian Museum is an important institution. It contributes to preserving the antiquities that represent Egyptian civilization. When I visit Egypt next time, I will make sure to visit this museum again. I will also discover its other contents, especially the belongings, which were buried with the ancient kings.
