My Trip to the Pyramids

Last year, I went on a family trip to Egypt. During that time, our tour group decided to go to the pyramids. That visit was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. In this essay, I will talk about it, in addition to the things I did there.

We got on the bus and headed southwest of Cairo. The trip took us about an hour. When we approached the Giza pyramid complex, I saw the pyramids from afar in their yellow-brown color. We bought tickets and walked towards the pyramids. When I stood in front of them, they looked great and huge. I noticed that they were built of large blocks of limestone. The tour guide told us that the three pyramids built next to each other, of different sizes, are the most famous in Egypt. The largest pyramid is the Pyramid of Khufu. The second largest one is the Pyramid of Khafre. As for the Pyramid of Menkaure, it is the smallest one. The tour guide also said that the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids for the pharaohs. They are a tribute to them, in addition to the fact that the pharaohs were buried in the pyramids after their death. Around the pyramids, I saw men with camels taking tourists for a ride. I rode a camel and felt like I was living in ancient Egypt. I saw other men selling souvenirs. Such as necklaces, and small statues of the pyramids and pharaohs. I bought some for my family and friends back home. In the evening, we ate traditional Egyptian dishes at a nearby restaurant overlooking the pyramids. The atmosphere was great, we felt like we were living in ancient Egypt and modern Egypt at the same time.

I saw tourists from all over the world visiting the pyramids. This indicates Egypt's great status. In addition to people's interest in its history and culture. I want to visit the pyramids again in the future, to explore them and their surroundings more.
