Mother Earth
My dream is to work for NASA. I dream of that because I want to see Earth from space. I read a lot of books about our Mother Earth, and discovered things that I didn't know before. In this essay, I will talk about our beautiful planet in which we all live, and why we should save and protect it.
Earth is located in the Milky Way galaxy. It is the fifth largest planet in the solar system, and the third planet in terms of distance to the sun. Earth is located between Venus and Mars. Scientists estimate its age to be 4.543 billion years. Although Earth appears round from space, it is an ellipsoid. Planet Earth has many colors, which include brown, white, green, and blue. Oceans and seas cover 71% of the Earth's surface, while land covers 29%. Examples of water bodies on Earth are: the Indian Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea. On the other hand, there are 7 continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. Earth is the only planet in the universe known to possess life. This is because it contains water and other elements that are essential for the survival of living things. Also, its distance from the sun is right, and protects it from freezing or burning. Although Earth is home to billions of people, it suffers many problems because of their activities. Such as: air pollution, climate change, pollution of water bodies, waste, and acid rain. These problems hurt people in the first place. It causes them economic, health and social problems. Therefore, we must protect Earth by preserving natural resources, avoiding environmental pollution, and reducing waste.
Protecting Earth is everyone's responsibility. If we ignore it, this will lead to the ruin of the planet. We have to understand that Earth is a big home for everyone, and we have to protect it as we protect our homes and our other valuables.
