The Elephant
One of my interests is learning about animals. I really love them, and I hope to be a zoologist in the future. That is why I watch documentaries and read books about the animal kingdom. In this essay, I will talk about the elephant, which is one of my favorite animals. I will also talk about its kinds, and why it is important to people.
The elephant is not a predator that eats meat. It is one of the animals that eats plants, which are called herbivores. There are three kinds of elephants. They include the Asian elephant, the African forest elephant, and the African savanna elephant. The elephant is a huge animal. It weighs thousands of kilograms, and is considered the largest land animal in the world. Elephants are known for their gray color. They have large ears and thick skin. To protect their skin, elephants throw sand and mud on it. Tusks and trunk are among the distinctive body parts of the elephant. As for the trunk, the elephant uses it to put food in its mouth. It also uses the trunk for drinking water, breathing, making sounds, and smelling. As for the tusks, they are made of ivory. Every elephant has two tusks, and it uses them for many things. Such as: defending itself, lifting things, and collecting plants to eat. Elephants are found only in Asia and Africa. There are people in these areas who use them to carry heavy things and for transport. Some tourist destinations use elephants to attract tourists. They also hold special performances for them.
Elephants are social animals. They live in large groups. When one of the elephants dies, the other elephants feel sad for a while. Elephants face many threats, especially illegal hunting and habitat loss. For this, we must all cooperate to protect them from these dangers.
