Household Chores

All families do household chores. They keep the house clean and comfortable. Household chores are one of the activities that I do with my family regularly. In this essay, I will talk about their importance to us as a family. I will also talk about the role of each of us when doing these chores.

Household chores are the tasks that are done to clean the house. In my family, there are three types of household chores. They include daily chores, weekly chores, and chores on important occasions. For daily household chores, my family and I collaborate to do them every day. Postponing them makes the house messy and dirty. They include taking out the trash, washing dishes, doing laundry, preparing meals, making the bed, sweeping the floor, folding clothes, setting the table for meals, and dusting. The second type of chores are those that we do once or twice a week. Many of these chores are similar to daily chores. But they include deep cleaning of everything. Examples of weekly chores are: washing the car, vacuuming furniture and curtains, cleaning out the oven and refrigerator, washing bedsheets, and deep cleaning the bathroom. Moreover, these chores include deep cleaning of floors, clothes, and carpets. On the other hand, there are chores that we do on important occasions. Such as Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. Examples of such chores are: washing carpets, deep cleaning the walls, and dusting everything in the house. In our family, we always divide the chores. The kids do the easy chores. While adults do the difficult ones that require the use of chemicals. And when we do household chores without being asked. Our parents praise and encourage us.

Doing household chores is a chance to spend time together. When we do them, we learn cooperation, patience, and self-reliance. Chores are not only important for cleaning. They are important for health. They are like exercises that keep us healthy and active.
