Importance Of Dental Health
Last week, I had a toothache. I was afraid to go to the dentist. But I could not stand the pain and went to see him. After the dentist examined my teeth, he told me that I had cavities. He also told me that I have to keep my teeth healthy, and gave me some tips that can help me with that. In this essay, I will talk about dental health and ways to maintain it, in addition to its importance.
Teeth are living body parts. They help us cut food before we swallow it. They also make us smile beautifully. For this, it is necessary to maintain dental health. Because it reflects our personality and how much we care about ourselves. The first step to maintaining dental health is to cut down on foods and stop habits that may damage teeth. Examples of these foods and beverages are sweets, soda, potato chips, coffee, tea, and dried fruits. On the other hand, examples of habits that harm the teeth include opening packets with the teeth, chewing on ice, chewing on pencils, smoking, not protecting the teeth in violent sports, and not brushing them properly. Just as there are foods, drinks, and habits that destroy teeth, there are others that help keep them healthy. Examples of these foods are cheese, leafy green vegetables, carrots, pears, apples, and nuts. As for healthy dental habits, they include brushing teeth two to three times a day. In addition to flossing once a day, seeing the dentist every six months, drinking water instead of sugary drinks, and changing toothbrush every three months. We can also check our teeth at home regularly using a mirror, to check if we need to see a dentist urgently.
My last visit to the dentist taught me that having healthy teeth protects us from dental pain and diseases. Such diseases can prevent us from eating, sleeping, and living normally. For this, I will follow the tips he gave me, and I will visit him from time to time to check the health of my teeth.
