Cairo City

Egypt is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. People from all over the world visit it to see the monuments of its civilization, which are spread in its cities. Such as: Alexandria, Luxor, Port Said, and Aswan. In this essay, I will talk about my trip to Cairo, the capital of Egypt. I will talk about this wonderful experience, and the activities that I did.

Cairo is located in northeastern Egypt, on the banks of the Nile River. Our flight landed at Cairo International Airport. We got on the bus to take us to the hotel. As the bus passed through the streets of Cairo, I noticed that it was a vibrant city. I saw a lot of old and new buildings. I also saw a lot of minarets and domes. The tour guide told us that Cairo is the largest city in Egypt. He told us that it has many nicknames. Such as: "The City of a Thousand Minarets", "Masr El Mahrousa", and "Jewel of the East". We headed to Giza, in the south of Cairo. There, we saw the pyramids and the Sphinx. Their view was majestic and breathtaking. Then, we went to wander the streets and alleys of Cairo. We visited the Egyptian Museum to see the pharaonic antiquities. We also visited Al-Azhar Mosque, Khan el-Khalili market, the Qalawun complex, Al Manial Palace, the Coptic Museum, and the Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hassan. We also visited other places, which made us dazzled by the richness, greatness, and diversity of Cairo's heritage. Later, we tried traditional Egyptian dishes, such as molokhia and stuffed pigeons. We also bought souvenirs that contain symbols of Egyptian civilization, such as statues of the pyramids and pharaohs.

I want to visit Cairo again in the future to discover it more, and to see all the sights in it. On my next trip, I want to interact with the people of Cairo, and learn about their life in this wonderful city.
